The Vilna H.K.P. Survivors Conference
The Association of the Jews of Vilna and Vicinity in Israel has initiated an International H.K.P. Survivors Conference which will take place June 6th-11th, 2010.
As the number of survivors is decreasing with time, a conference which enables the documentation of survivors' testimonies is of great importance. Yad Vashem will take part in the documentation process.
The conference will include various activities:
- A guided tour at the "Yad Vashem" exhibition accompanied with lectures and a ceremony.
- A visit to the Museum of Jewish Art at Heichal Shlomo in Jerusalem.
- A tour at Beth Hatefutsoth followed by a performance of the Nekhama Lifshitz singing group accompanied by a presentation.
- A festive closing ceremony where an actress accompanied by a violinist will perform the late Sutzkever poems and a singer will sing a selection of Yiddish songs.
